Customer Background
Tervis Tumbler started in 1946 when Detroit engineering duo Frank Cotter and G.
Howlett Davis created the world's first insulated tumbler. What started out as a
single-size tumbler that was available with only a few different designs is now
a full line of styles.
Business Challenge
Tervis Tumbler sought to gain production efficiencies in
their custom
tumbler assembly section. Tumbler assemblers referenced large paper binders
for assembly instructions. This process was laborious and not condusive to
the production targets that management desired.
Solution
MethodFactory developed a touchscreen kiosk with a fixed mount bar
code scanner. The new system enables assembly staff to scan the product bar
code, receive onscreen assembly instructions (with images) and update inventory
in real time.
